Liposuction —
Targeted Contouring for Stubborn Fat.
Some fat does not respond to diet or exercise. Liposuction removes those genetically stubborn deposits permanently, sculpting a more proportionate contour. Performed with the tumescent technique by a triple board-certified plastic surgeon in an accredited facility.

Some Fat Is Simply
Genetically Programmed to Resist.
No matter how disciplined your nutrition or how consistent your workouts, certain areas retain fat deposits that are genetically programmed to stay. Inner thighs. Outer thighs. The lower abdomen. The flanks. The chin.
Liposuction removes these deposits permanently, sculpting a contour that matches the work you have already done. It is not a shortcut — it is precision contouring for fat that would otherwise never respond.
Ideal candidates are near their goal weight, with localized fat deposits that do not respond to lifestyle measures. The procedure typically removes a few litres of fat — enough to transform the contour of the treated area, but not enough to meaningfully change the number on the scale.
If you are significantly above your ideal weight, Dr. Huq may recommend reaching a stable weight before proceeding — so that the result you pay for is the result you keep.
A Safer, Gentler
Approach to Fat Removal.
How It Works
A warmed tumescent solution — a dilute mixture of lidocaine, epinephrine, and intravenous fluid — is infused into the treatment area. The fat becomes swollen, firm, and blanched, allowing precise, controlled removal through thin cannulas.
Why It’s Safer
Because blood loss is minimized and post-operative bruising, swelling, and pain are reduced, the tumescent technique lessens anaesthesia requirements and the chance of needing a blood transfusion.
What It Does Well
Used for any area of the body, and especially where precision matters — the face, neck, arms, calves, and ankles. Ideal for patients near their goal weight with localized fat that resists diet and exercise.
Liposuction Can Contour
Almost Anywhere.
Abdomen — the most common treatment area, addressing both upper and lower abdominal fat.
Flanks (love handles) — resistant fat along the sides of the waist.
Hips — fat deposits on the outer hips that create a wider silhouette.
Thighs (inner and outer) — inner thigh fat or outer thigh “saddlebags.”
Arms — upper arm fullness that does not respond to exercise.
Back — bra-line fat rolls and lower back fullness.
Chin and neck — submental fat contributing to a double chin, often performed in conjunction with facial procedures.
Chest (male) — as part of gynecomastia treatment.
Volume. Judgement.
Every Surgery, Personally Performed.
At some practices, the surgeon you consult with is not the surgeon who operates on you. At Niagara Plastic Surgery Centre, Dr. Huq personally leads every surgery. He is the operating surgeon on every case; assistant surgeons on his team support him in the operating room. — and personally calls every patient afterward to check on recovery. Liposuction is a technique that rewards depth of experience, and Dr. Huq has performed more than 50,000 operations across 28 years of practice.
Liposuction Removes Fat.
It Does Not Tighten Skin.
If your skin has good elasticity, it will contract smoothly over the newly contoured area after fat removal. If your skin has lost its elasticity — due to aging, significant weight loss, or pregnancy — it may not retract adequately, and loose skin may remain.
In these cases, a tummy tuck (for the abdomen) or another skin-tightening procedure may be needed in addition to or instead of liposuction. Dr. Huq will assess your skin quality during your consultation and recommend the approach that will produce the best result — which may sometimes mean not proceeding with liposuction alone.
For Smaller Concerns:
CoolSculpting.
For patients with small, localized fat deposits who prefer a non-surgical approach, NPSC offers CoolSculpting — a non-invasive fat reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling to eliminate fat cells without surgery.
CoolSculpting produces modest reduction (approximately 20 to 25% per treatment area per session) and is best suited for patients with mild concerns. For more significant contouring, liposuction remains the gold standard.
Accredited.
Surgeon-Led.
Anesthesiologist-Supported.
A private, standalone surgical facility purpose-built for plastic and reconstructive surgery — with full emergency equipment on site and half a block from Greater Niagara General Hospital.
All general anesthesia cases are supported by Canadian board-certified FRCPC physician anesthesiologists — never nurse anesthetists.
$6,000–$9,000 — Everything Included.
Pricing depends on the number and size of areas treated. Your quote covers the surgeon’s fee, accredited facility fee, anesthesia, and all follow-up appointments. Compression garments are typically covered by private insurance.
Most Return to Desk Work
Within a Week.
Days 1–3 — Swelling, bruising, and mild soreness. A compression garment is worn to support the treated areas and minimize swelling.
Weeks 1–2 — Bruising fades. Most patients return to desk work within five to seven days. The compression garment is worn continuously.
Weeks 3–6 — Swelling continues to resolve. Physical activity is gradually reintroduced. The compression garment is worn for three to four months total.
Months 2–6 — The final contour becomes apparent as residual swelling resolves completely.
The Kind of Care
That Earns Repeat Patients.
Dr. Huq has been my doctor on three different occasions. You can tell by his approach, explanation of procedure and end results he’s had many years of experience. I will always remember the kindness and medical professionalism of Dr. Huq and his team.
From the first consultation to the last follow-up, I felt seen and cared for. Dr. Huq’s honesty is what sold me — he talked me out of two things I thought I wanted, and I’m so grateful he did.
I travelled from across the province because of Dr. Huq’s reputation. It was absolutely worth it. The standalone facility, the team, the follow-up — all exceptional.
Is liposuction the same as weight loss?
No. Liposuction is a contouring procedure, not a weight loss method. Ideal candidates are near their goal weight with localized fat deposits that don't respond to lifestyle measures. The procedure typically removes a few litres of fat — enough to transform the contour of the treated area, but not enough to significantly change the number on the scale.
What technique does Dr. Huq use?
Dr. Huq performs liposuction using the tumescent technique — a dilute solution of lidocaine, epinephrine, and intravenous fluid infused into the treatment area before fat removal. The technique reduces bleeding, bruising, swelling, and post-operative pain, and lessens anaesthesia requirements. It is used across any treatment area and is especially suited to areas where precision matters — face, neck, arms, calves, and ankles.
Will liposuction tighten my loose skin?
No. Liposuction removes fat but does not tighten skin. If your skin has good elasticity, it will contract smoothly over the newly contoured area. If your skin has lost its elasticity — from aging, weight loss, or pregnancy — loose skin may remain. In those cases, a tummy tuck or other skin-tightening procedure may be needed in addition to or instead of liposuction.
How many areas can be treated in one session?
Multiple areas can often be treated in a single session, depending on the total volume of fat to be removed and the patient's health profile. Dr. Huq will recommend the appropriate scope during your consultation — balancing thoroughness with safety.
When will I see my final result?
The contour improves progressively as swelling resolves. Most of the change is visible by eight weeks, with the final result typically apparent between two and six months post-op.
What does liposuction cost at NPSC?
Tumescent liposuction ranges from $6,000 to $9,000, depending on the number and size of areas treated. All quotes are all-inclusive, covering the surgeon's fee, accredited facility fee, anesthesia, and all follow-up appointments. Flexible payment plans are available with no interest and no admin fees.
Precision Contouring
Begins with a Precise Conversation.
Meet with Dr. Huq to determine whether liposuction, a tummy tuck, CoolSculpting, or a combination will best achieve your goals.
