A Rejuvenated
Appearance to the Eyes.
Cosmetic eyelid surgery can improve the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both — giving a more rested, alert look to the surrounding area of your eyes.
Specifically, eyelid surgery can treat loose or sagging skin that creates folds or disturbs the natural contour of the upper eyelid (sometimes impairing vision), excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the upper eyelids, bags under the eyes, droopiness of the lower eyelids that shows white below the iris, and excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid.
Three Surgical
Approaches to the Lower Lid.
Transconjunctival
Less invasive. The primary goal is removal of bulging orbital fat. Does not remove excess skin — so patients with significant skin excess need an additional technique.
Transcutaneous
The skin approach. Removes excess skin, orbital fat, and orbicularis muscle. More invasive; may leave scar tissue inside the lid that risks altering the shape of the lid opening.
Tissue-Sparing
Unlike the other two approaches, no orbital fat is removed. Focuses on direct repair and tightening of the orbital septum. No risk of hollowness, no risk of lid collapse, less risk of shape change.
Healthy Candidates
with
Realistic Goals.
Eyelid surgery is usually performed on adult men and women who have healthy facial tissue and muscles and realistic goals for improvement of the upper and/or lower eyelids.
Good candidates are healthy individuals who do not have life-threatening illness or medical conditions that can impair healing, non-smokers, people with a positive outlook and specific goals, and individuals without serious eye conditions.
You must tell your doctor if you have eye diseases such as glaucoma, dry eye, or detached retina; thyroid disorders including Graves’ disease; or cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, other circulatory disorders, or diabetes.
Approximate Cost — May Vary by Case.
Prices are all-inclusive and cover surgeon, facility, and anesthesia. The approximate cost may vary depending on the case. Individual results may vary.
Should I have upper, lower, or both?
This is determined at your consultation based on your specific anatomy and goals. Some patients benefit from upper-lid surgery alone; others from lower-lid surgery alone; many choose to combine the two. Dr. Huq will walk you through what each approach addresses and what results you can realistically expect.
How much does blepharoplasty cost at NPSC?

What medical conditions should I disclose?
You must tell your doctor about any eye diseases (glaucoma, dry eye, detached retina), thyroid disorders (Graves’ disease, over- or underactive thyroid), and cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, circulatory disorders, or diabetes.
